Week 1, Day 3

It was another day with no tubing!!!  Gavin ate/drank by mouth 31.5oz of food and PediaSure!! Only 3oz of PediaSure in the pump tonight again.  There were a few gags, but no vomiting today!  They pushed Gavin a little more with the peaches today.  The mix was 75% peach and 25% applesauce.  While he ate every bite that was presented to him by the therapist, he was not shy to tell me later “Mommy, I did NOT like that apple stuff!” (Referring to the peach/applesauce).  At least he was polite and did what he was told with Ms. Anna.

Gavin is still doing great!  I am amazed at how much he loves these sessions.  Right after he finished his third session, we were on our way back down to the playroom and Gavin asked if we could go back and take his bites again!  One of the therapists heard that and reminded me that we’re in the “honeymoon phase” right now.  Let’s hope we have a six to eight week honeymoon J.

We got to spend some time tonight with the other little boy from the feeding clinic and his mom.  We put together little candy bags and valentines for the therapists.  It was really nice to hear their story and watch the boys play together.

I am feeling a little more energized today after two good days at the clinic.  It is crazy how intently I hang on every bite Gavin takes hoping it goes down like it should, and how exhausting it is!  I am definitely ready for the weekend.

I got a new phone today!!!  Unfortunately, I was not able to get any of my contacts back…Please everyone send me a text so I can get your number stored in my new phone!  Here are some pictures of us in our new routine!

  1. Love the pictures! I am glad you had a good day. I am so glad Gavin had a friend to play with. I bet the therapist loved their candy bag. By the way, I forgot to tell you for bringing cupcakes to primrose before you all left. They were so yummy! Have a great weekend.

  3. Ya'll are making a lot of progress, Sandy...CONGRATS!!! FYI...when Charlie was Gavin's age, he would throw up every morning when i dropped him off at his special needs pre-school. After 2 weeks of this, the teachers started making Charlie clean it up! Whaddya know...Charlie never threw up again after that! You both are such soldiers! Keep up the GREAT work and have a WONDERFUL weekend with your family! xo Melinda
